Issue 25 | Saturday, April 18, 2026 | The Commission
The Commission issue does not introduce a concept. It closes the loop.
This week covered the full arc of what it means to carry your faith into the rooms you are already in. Identity. Posture. Preparation. Movement. Replenishment. Battle. And today — the Commission that gives all of it its reason.
This issue is not about what to know. It is about where to go.
You are salt and light. You already are. Now carry it into the room.
That is the entire week. Seven movements, one charge.
Matthew 28:18-20 is the most demanding passage in the New Testament, and it is routinely domesticated into a missions committee agenda item.
Jesus did not give it to missionaries. He gave it to eleven ordinary people — who, at the moment of the Commission, some still doubted. He looked at that room and said: all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go.
The authority is not yours. The go is.
The Commission is not a program. It is not a calling reserved for people with theological degrees. It is the operating posture of every person who has been formed by the risen Christ and sent back into the world. The rooms you are walking into this week are the mission field. Not preparation for it. The mission field itself.
The campuses are full of students who have tried everything and came up empty. The workplaces are contested — Christians terminated for answering questions honestly, for keeping a Bible at their desk, for declining to affirm what their convictions do not allow. The classical Christian education movement is building the next generation — but that generation needs people in the rooms right now who are already formed and already deployed.
The resistance is documented. The legal resources exist. The hunger is real. The authority belongs to the one who sends.
Go.
The Commission is never general. It always lands on a specific person, a specific room, a specific moment.
Who is the person in your actual life right now who cannot hear without someone speaking to them — and what is the one thing you have been waiting to say?
Not a category of people. One person. The face you see when you read that sentence. The conversation you have been circling for weeks or months. That is your Jerusalem. The Commission starts there.
The week has equipped you. The formation is real. The authority belongs to the one who sends — which means your readiness is not the limiting factor.
Go into the room. Open your mouth with grace and salt. Be ready to give an answer. Cover the distance. Replenish every morning. Stand when the room pushes back.
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him.
Therefore go.
Florida State University is ranked the #2 party school in America. On April 2, 4,500 students gathered there to worship Jesus. Hundreds were baptized. This has been happening on campuses across the country for three years. The press hasn't noticed. Guardians should.
In 1993, there were 10 classical Christian schools in America. Today there are more than 450. More than a quarter of all evangelical Christian schools now use a classical curriculum. Something is being built — and it has been building for thirty years without much fanfare.
A barista fired for answering faith questions. An NBA player waived within hours of citing Scripture. A Christian fired for a cross necklace and Bible at his desk. These are not isolated incidents. This is a pattern — and a person of conviction should understand it.
You are salt and light. You already are.
One person. One conversation. One room.
Go.
